HOTEL LEGER
MOKELUMNE HILL, CALIFORNIA
The colorful Hotel Leger, located in the heart of the Southern Mines, was known as the Hotel de L'Europe in Gold Rush days. Built by George Leger, a pioneer, it opened for business in 1852 and soon gained the reputation as the luxury hotel of the Mother Lode. Completely restored in 1960, the hotel is exciting and offers food, drink and lodging to the traveler.
